Penn State Capital Union Building

The Capital Area Union Building or CUB, as it is commonly referred to, is a place where many students unwind, relax and take a break from their studies. The CUB is a two-story building that has numerous activities and intramurals for students including: racquetball, Swimming, table tennis, volleyball, basketball and aerobics.  

The first floor of the CUB is where the recreation/athletics office, gym, pool, game room, physical fitness room and racquetball courts are located. The multi-purpose room, weight room, quiet study lounge and student center are located on the second floor.

The Sea Lions Swim Team will practice at the Penn State Harrisburg Aquatic Center, located within the Capitol Area Union Building, which offers a six lane, twenty-five yard swimming pool.

The entrance to Penn State Harrisburg is located on PA 230, West of Middletown.

From PA Turnpike: (I-76): Get off at exit 247 (Harrisburg East). Follow PA 283 East toward the Harrisburg International Airport. Follow signs for the airport and the college. Before entering the airport complex, take the exit for PA 230. Turn left at the junction of 230. Proceed on 230 East approximately 1 mile. The college entrance is on the left. The pool is located in the Capital Area Union Building (first building on the right).

From Lancaster and points East: Take Route 283 West toward Harrisburg. Follow signs for the airport and the college. Before entering the airport complex, take the exit for PA 230. Turn left at the junction of 230. Proceed on 230 East approximately 1 mile. The college entrance is on the left. The pool is located in the Capital Area Union Building (first building on the right).

From Harrisburg and points North: Follow signs for Harrisburg International Airport/283 East. Take 283 East to the Harrisburg International Airport exit. Follow signs for the airport and the college. Before entering the airport complex, take the exit for PA 230. Turn left at the junction of 230. Proceed on 230 East approximately 1 mile. The college entrance is on the left. The pool is located in the Capital Area Union Building (first building on the right).

 

Parking at Penn State Harrisburg

All vehicles parked on campus must display a parking pass and a fee of $1 per day or $20 per year (January 1 to December 30) is charged for parking.  Yearly permits can be obtained at the Parking Permit office, located in 47 Swatara Building. For further information, call 717-948-6006.
